hey. so someone told me that when you use baby shampoo that your hair is like shinier and stuff ... is this true? if so ... what does it do to your hair?Does baby shampoo really work well?
Baby shampoo is very gentile, so it works well for those with sensitive scalps and it doesn't do much to strip your hair of oil and moisture which is good... but is is forumlated for babies, who use no product in their hair and don't color their hair. If you color treat your hair, use hot tools like a drier or iron, or if you use products that can build up like gel or spray then you should use something designed to handle these conditions.Does baby shampoo really work well?
The doc. told me to use baby shampoo when I said i'm losing slighlty more hair than usual. Seems to be okay. I'm getting my hair coloured soon so I don't know what I'm going to do! I guess the only thing I can do is stop using my straightners even more and use baby shampoo every other wash or something!
totallyyy..
it makes your head soft %26amp; your hair is smoother... usually for the sensitive headed ones.... It depends what brand it is to make it shiny or not...
only if ur hair is virgin, (never dyed permed)
Baby Shampoo is very alkaline and can be more damaging that other shampoos. The PH level for baby shampoo is 13, I think, the same as in a babies eyes that's why it doesn't sting. If you have any thing like perm or color on your hair I would suggest using something else.
baby shampoo has a higher PH so it doesnt harm baby eyes. You hair needs a lower PH then baby shampoo has. Over time it will dry your hair out and can lead to damage. If you have color treated hair it can cause it to fade off color.
With the higher PH it opens the cuticle (which is what holds your color in) which will cause it to look damaged over time.
im heard so i use it sometines!! try it!!

Is baby shampoo [scented] okay to use on puppies?
My mother doesn't like the smell of dog shampoo, so she bought Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby wash [Cucumber Melon scented] and I was wondering if that would be okay to use on a puppy? Is baby shampoo [scented] okay to use on puppies?
Yes its just fine, and extremely gentle for them. I use baby soap, when i wash my dogs face, because its gentle around the eyesIs baby shampoo [scented] okay to use on puppies?
No it isn't.
Puppies can have major reactions to using ppl shampoo %26amp; the strong scent. Unless she doesn't mind possibly paying a vet bills, use only puppy shampoos on puppies. There is cucumber melon scented pet shampoo %26amp; isn't expensive so her excuse doesn't work.
No. The PH balance isn't the same. Your dogs could have reactions to the perfumes in it.
Tell your mom to get puppy shampoo. Not all dog shampoos or puppy shampoos smell the same. I prefer unscented stuff, as bugs are attracted to good smells.
? Dog shampoos come in so many scents anymore.. I have a drawer full of all kinds of shampoos in my bathroom cabinet. Dog shampoo would be better for the dog's skin.
Yes but only aveeno baby
yeah thats fine i love dogs i bet yours is cute

Has anyone tried johnson's baby shampoo for your puppy?
i just tried it on my puppy, the one with conditioner and now his fur smells good and fluffy. i also noticed less fur fell when i combed him unlike before when i used dog shampoo on him.Has anyone tried johnson's baby shampoo for your puppy?
No.....Has anyone tried johnson's baby shampoo for your puppy?
you should never wash your dogs fur even with human shampoos even baby shampoo, as it strips the dogs fur of its natural oils that it needs.
You can buy cheap puppy shampoo from any pet shop that will leave your dog smelling lovely and its coat it tip top condition.
I use it to wash my dogs faces so it doesn't burn their eyes %26amp; then use regular dog shampoo all over the rest of their body.
I've never had a problem w/it.
I have 3 Shih Tzu's, age 3, 2 %26amp; 1 and I've always used baby shampoo and conditioner. I bath them about once every 3 weeks and none of them have ever developed any skin problems. I also use a hair dryer to partially dry them. It sure does leave them soft and smelling wonderful. Go ahead and keep using it.
i know u can use the stuff on guinea pigs...
so i guess its ok 4 small dogs...
The following is borrowed from a Veterinary Products website that manufactures Sulfate free dog shampoo. I challenge you to check all of your own shampoos and see what nasties you are using!!
Our secret is in the surfactants 鈥?Why should we avoid sulphates?
Surfactants are by their own definition the 鈥榮urface active agent鈥?in skin cleansers,
shampoos and body washes that cleanse the skin. It is this ingredient that can greatly reduce
the surface tension of water when used in very low concentrations and help to suspend,
solubilise, dissolve or separate particulate matter in some way so that it will not just re-deposit
on the surface in question. This is the role of the surfactant (or cleanser).
Harsh surfactant ingredients are a major cause of adverse skin reactions to topical shampoos
and conditioners. They often cause skin irritation, drying and itchiness. This is where the
careful selection of non-irritating surfactants is critical when formulating quality personal care
products.
Surfactants are categorised as anionic, cationic, non-ionic or amphoteric depending on the
electric charge of the active part of the molecule. Anionic surfactants are proven as effective
cleansers and commonly used for this purpose in human and animal shampoos. There are
four groups of anionic surfactants 鈥?sulphates, soaps, sulphonates and carboxylates. Cationic
surfactants are most commonly used for their detangling properties in conditioners. Non-ionic
and amphoteric surfactants are characterised by their mildness on skin and eyes and are
added in quality products to produce a rich and luxurious cleansing product.
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and its ethoxylated equivalent Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate
(SLES) are the two primary anionic sulphate surfactants used in hair care products and
creams/lotions as cleansing agents. Both these cleansers are commercially attractive to
formulators because they are extremely cheap and have a great cleansing ability. But this
comes at a physical cost. They are also strong irritants.
SLS is so irritating that it is the most common standard used in irritancy testing, against which
the irritancy of other substances is compared.1. SLES is slightly less irritating than SLS, but
may leave the sulphate contaminated with 1,4 鈥?dioxane 鈥?shown to cause carcinogenic in
animals2,3,4. These two sulphate cleansers have been reviewed in over 250 scientific research
studies since 19835. The studies have confirmed:
1. The highly irritant properties of sulphates 1,2
2. Erythema and dehydration of skin cells caused by sulphates6
3. The degenerative affects of sulphates on the skin cell membranes because of protein
denaturing properties
4. Residual levels of sulphates in vital organs of the body (including liver, heart, lungs
and brain) from skin contact and absorption7
5. Possible permanent eye damage in young animals7
Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is now quite commonly used in 鈥榮oap free鈥?and 鈥榮ensitive skin鈥?br>
shampoos. However, tests have shown that this cheap cleanser is actually even more
irritating to skin than SLS!
It is for these five reasons that Pure Animal Wellbeing has deliberately avoided the use of any
sulphates in their Shampoo and Conditioner products. They are committed to meet the
highest standards of purity and safety with all the ingredients they choose. As a result the
Pure Animal Wellbeing range are gentler and more luxurious, offering premiere care for even
the most delicate and sensitive of skins.
I have standard poodle show dogs. I use Johnson's and Johnson baby shampoo on them every second week. Its great for the coat. I also use dish washing liquid on the oily coats as well!!! Dogs hair, like ours is very durable and dont stress to much. Try not to get anything in the dogs eyes, no one likes soap in the eyes.
But the baby shampoo smells great on the coat dosnt it!!!
This isn't so much of an answer... I just wanted to say thanks for the idea! My golden retriever has a bad habit of rubbing his face in horse poop whenever we go to the park. I've always been afraid to use dog shampoo around his face, so I just kind of scrub the best I can with a wet washcloth %26amp; let time %26amp; dog-to-dog grooming do the rest. I'll definately try Johnson's baby shampoo next time.
PS - Don't waste your money on flea shampoos - if your dog has fleas, Original (blue) Dawn dishsoap works wonderfully!
I've never used it on my pets, but my stylist once mentioned how bad it really is for the skin. They make baby shampoo so it cleans EVERYTHING out of a baby's hair, such as sticky foods. It does contain alot of detergents which is what dries out skin.

Is baby shampoo good for your hair?
i mix it with my regular shampoo sometimes and I think it looks better with some. Is it good for your hair if you're not a baby?Is baby shampoo good for your hair?
I know that people use this to wash their face and clean makeup brushes. For gentle and natural, try something like Kiss my Face or Jason's. There are a lots out there with natural ingredients that are from plants. One of the best is Phyto brand that you can get at any Sephora store. If you have a health food store near you ,check it out. Or go to www.drugstore.com.Is baby shampoo good for your hair?
baby shampoo isn't even good for baby's. here's why:
they aren't made to the pH of hair, but of eyes. this is why its ';no more tears.';
it doesn't really do a good job of cleaning the hair and skin, but it does do a good job of drying it out.
use a good professional shampoo and conditioner. you won't have to mix it with anything else.
its not ';bad'; for your hair, but its not doing anything for it.
baby shampoo is formulated for that baby (lanugo) hair.. not really a good thing for adult (terminal) hair. you should be alright.. but make sure it doesn't have chamomille in it... that can leave a gold deposit on your hair that is actually damaging
Yeah for the baby it is.But babies usally have very little hair so that is why only babies use it. It just to keep their hair nice.
It won't hurt your hair. I switch around and use different shampoo every other wash. My hair does a lot better. It doesn't get flat when I do this.
As long as it has some conditioner properties to it. Otherwise, go w/ pantene pro V
yes it is. baby hair is the same as your hair just newer. so yes its good for your hair.
I think it is cause whenever I use baby shampoo it makes my hair really silky.
Hope I helped ^_^
Johnsons baby shampoo is good for any type of hair...with or without mixing it with another...
When I used baby shampoo it made my hair thin and rough.
he**z yes its make it soft and shiny n conditions
i love it !!:)

Can I Bathe my Rabbit with baby shampoo?
I NEED!!!!!!!!! to bathe my bunny and i dont know if i can use baby shampoo or not.Can I Bathe my Rabbit with baby shampoo?
No!!!
Bathe them in acidCan I Bathe my Rabbit with baby shampoo?
should be OK, but be very careful of the eyes. Rabbit eyes are much more sensitive than ours.
yes absolutely
Yeah you should be okay, just be careful around her face. Also make sure you dry her really good.
It is not recommended to give a bath/shower to a rabbit. Many are more at risk of getting sick, especially if you use shampoo and there are residues that gets swallowed later by the bunny. If you must clean him, please do so with as little shampoo as possible and make sure the rabbit does not get cold before he is dry again.
NB If he cannot keep himself (esp his backside) clean, it might be a sign of obesity : verify if you can feel his ribs, and if not, put him on a restricted diet. To know the heathy weight of your rabbit, consult reference books at your local library or on the web.
Hope it helps

Is Johnsons Baby Shampoo safe for color treated hair?
I figure if it is made for babies, it must be gentle. I have grey in my hair. I dye it blonde.
thanks. Is Johnsons Baby Shampoo safe for color treated hair?
I can't honestly say no,I am not 100% positive. I do in fact know that paul mitchelle's ';Baby don't cry'; shampoo is made for babies, %26amp; it specifically says not to use on color treated hair. Call the number on the shampoo bottle, they might be able to help.
Also, sally beauty supply sells shampoo called Shimmer Lights, its helps brighten grey %26amp; blonde hair. Maybe you want to check it out.Is Johnsons Baby Shampoo safe for color treated hair?
No! My sister is a beautician and baby shampoo may be tear free but it is harsh on color treated hair. To save money use a generic like equate (walmart brand) for color treated hair. Good luck
Johnson's baby shampoo is fine for your hair but if you wanna maintain your blonde you should use a shampoo called silver shine by design line - regis ,or so silver by biolage it makes the blonde last longer and takes out any red tones and gold brassiness, but don't use it everyday use it like 2 times a week then in between use the baby shampoo
