Your snake sounds like like it may have areas of retained shed. The blue eyes and then clearing appear prior to actual physical shedding. You may try some shed-aid or a warm soaking to help remove this old skin from your snake. Increase humidity the next time he goes into shed. No shampoosCan i use baby shampoo on my ball python?
Shampoo cleans hair...reptiles lack this.

If your ball looks dry, you're going to have to increase the overall humidity of the tank. The entire thing should be 50-60% humidity. You could also put a hide box in with a damp substrate (mulch works well). This hide will be more humid than the rest of the tank, so your ball can choose its conditions more precisely.

Shampoo is unnecessary.
No no no. You do not BATHE snakes :) Everyone is right, he is probably in blue and going to shed. You can help him by soaking him in water (not too deep, and not cold or hot) or misting him and his cage (i.e., raising the humidity). Also you might put a rock or a branch of some sort for him to help rub against while he is shedding.
I reccomend you use a proffesional reptile wash or something. You can ask your vet and search your local pet store. From what you described, I think your snake is shedding! It's perfectly normal. Don't use human products on animals!

It irriates them because of the chemicals!
Dont use shampoo. Soak him in your tub for a bit, and he is probaly just going into a shed.
