Is dish washing liquid safe to use for shampoo?What do they put in baby shampoo, is it anthing different from any other detergent?
It is different from typical detergents. I wash my hair with dish detergent (ajax), but don't want to get it, or regular shampoo, in my eyes!
Baby shampoo uses cocamide, derived from the coconut, to cleanse the hair. While gentle, it is not as effective as detergent.
Cocamide is a mixture of amides of the fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. Cocamide is the structural basis of many surfactants.
